Honors Thesis

Cities are hubs of creativity, productivity, and change. However, material growth and affluence come at a price, jeopardizing the future of both the planet and its species. As more people migrate towards urban environments, a city’s ability to uphold environmental practices is critical moving forward. Within a city, there are three major aspects that can maximize sustainability; its layout, its government, and the buildings within. By reforming transportation methods, living closer together, and fostering prudent mindsets, cities can take one step closer to a sustainable future, implementing creative solutions to create a healthier, more defined urban identity.
